Hog Roast Dulwich, showcasing their skills at an Open Mic Night

Friedrich Nietzche once said that ‘without music, life would be a mistake.’ With over 30 million people in the UK attending music festivals in 2016, it would seem that a great many of us echo Nietzche’s sentiments. One man who recognised this is Jerry, a local business man who has just opened the doors to his new live music venue after a resounding opening night, that featured an open mic competition, performances from artists, drinks served to tables and of course the ace up his sleeve, a Hog Roast buffet, lovingly prepared by the crack team at Hog Roast Dulwich.

Jerry had come to us in the weeks building up to his opening night and asked us to serve a Hog Roast Buffet, complete with sides and a choice of desserts for his guests to be able to eat during the performances. He chose a Local Free Range Slow Roasted Chicken that comes with Chipolata Sausage, Stuffing and Homemade Onion Gravy, as well as a Hog Roast, accompanied by a seasonal medley of veg, and the roasted new potatoes. He also selected the zesty Lemon Tart and the handmade Cheesecake set on a crunchy biscuit base as options for desserts.

Of course the team at Hog Roast Dulwich were on site hours before the guests in order to make sure all the preparations had been made to meet the serving time. The venue was wonderfully decorated and had the look of an old Speakeasy, with circular tables arranged neatly facing the stage, each of them lit by candlelight and laid with cutlery. Guests began to arrive at roughly 7PM by which time the Hog had roasted. Meals were included in the price of a ticket and customers could order from our chef at any point up until 11PM.

Jerry’s opening night saw performances by new and experienced artists across a broad sweep of genres, including rock and roll, hip-hop and jazz, and the team at Hog Roast Dulwich were lucky enough to bear witness to some staggering performances. However it is fair to say that the guests were just as excited by our magnificent cuisine which proved to be the finishing touch to a perfect opening night.
