When Sarah contacted Hog Roast Hornchurch regarding catering her husband Jim’s birthday party, she had been recommended by friends who had enjoyed our services recently. We love the fact that we are recommended by others, as it means we have done what we set out to do – provide fresh, homemade delights that can be enjoyed by all, and with excellent service that is second to none. Our long-term customers are testament to this and that’s why they keep coming back – and you will, too, once you’ve tried our tasty food!
For Jim’s party, she asked us to make our succulent pigs in buns for thirty-three guests, as well as our homemade coleslaw and new potatoes with herbs, and a vegetarian option for two guests. We have spent years ensuring that everyone can eat our lovely food, and that’s by offering so much variety and choice to suit both special diets and personal tastes. In terms of vegetarians, we can make options such as stuffed mushrooms or peppers, veggie burgers or quiche, and for this party, we would be making our popular veggie skewers, which feature halloumi and fresh seasonal vegetables, grilled to perfection and served with pitta bread and a dip.
On the day of Jim’s 50th birthday, Hog Roast Hornchurch headed to the family home to cook up a storm using fresh, local ingredients. Once the meat had been prepared on-site in the large back garden, we set the temperature low and roasted the hog for several hours. You can’t rush a hog roast, and it needs to cook low and slow so that it’s perfectly cooked both inside and out, and no matter how many times we’re asked if it’s ready yet, by people licking their lips and waiting in anticipation, it’s not ready until it’s ready!
When it was finally ready on this day, it was to a round of applause by the party guests, who couldn’t wait to dig in, and not only to the pigs in buns but the accompanying dishes too.
For your next party or event, why not let Hog Roast Hornchurch treat you and your guests to the kind of catering that you deserve, while you sit back and relax and let us do all the hard work.
