After huge uncertainty over whether graduation ceremonies could go ahead this summer, it now appears that universities are making the call themselves. While some have chosen to postpone any celebration until 2022, others are going ahead with ceremonies, balls, and parties, albeit with COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Recently, Hog Roast Brompton was asked to cater for a formal dinner hosted for a class of 2021 graduates.

With formal graduation ceremonies postponed, a London university decided to host smaller celebrations for the graduating class of each school. For the School of Arts, the students were invited to attend a formal dinner with their peers, reminiscing no memories and celebrating their successes. Completing a university degree is an incredible achievement and one that should definitely be celebrated in style. Because of this, Hog Roast Brompton was hired to provide our Formal Dining Experience, since it is ideal for formal events of any size. The dinner was for approximately 120 guests, included vegetarian and gluten-free guests, so we made sure to cater accordingly.

As the guests arrived on the day of the event, our Hog Roast Brompton waiting staff began by serving 5 different canapés, including roasted duck breast, mini pizzas, and an Indian selection. This set the formal tone for the evening and introduced the guests to our delicious catering.

Following on from this, we served our homemade soup of the day once the guests were seated. The starter was accompanied by crusty bread rolls and butter, including a gluten-free alternative.

For the main course, the guests could choose between slow-roasted pig and whole-roasted chicken, with BBQ pulled jackfruit for vegetarian guests. The main dishes were served with a variety of sides and salad dishes, including seasonal vegetables, homemade coleslaw, and roasted baby new potatoes.

Finally, we served our desserts. The guests could choose between profiteroles and fresh fruit salad, with each dish looking and tasting delicious!
